Virtual Bootlegs: Still Life with Flowers and Fruit, Claude Monet, Photoshopped Google Museum View Screenshot (taken while in 3D mode) 2011- ongoing
These 3D images of canonical artworks are meant to be projected in a physical gallery and viewed with 3D glasses. Due to their 3D effect, and virtual origins, the images enter the physical gallery as faux-holographic Virtual Bootlegs— successfully dissolving the line between the physical and virtual gallery space and granting the works new digital lives.
